How do I access the internet from your hotel?

There are three different ways for you to get online at A Place in the Sun:
FREE, high-speed, secured wireless internet access is publicly broadcasted throughout the complex. This is great if you want to sit poolside and check your e-mails, but doesn't work as well if there are a lot of people trying to get online on the publicly broadcasted network, or you are in a corner of the property where the signal has to go through our block walls. .
Each room now has its own private modem and wireless router, with a different password for every unit.
You can also choose to to direct connect with an ethernet cable and use Time Warner Cable's Roadrunner service.  (If you don't have an ethernet cable, we will provide you with one to use at no charge).  This is a great option, because it comes with 24/7 technical support! This service is also free to our guests.

Are pets allowed at "A Place in the Sun"?

Yes!  "A Place in the Sun" is known for its pet-friendly attitude.  All bungalows are like fully-equipped apartments, and most have large, private garden patios that are perfect for those travelling with pets.  The living room of the bungalows have a sliding glass door that leads directly out to the private garden patio.  The patios of the garden bungalows are very private, and have half grass/half deck with patio furniture.
 

What is the cost per night for pets, and is there a weight limit?

The cost per pet, per night, is $15.00.  There is no weight limit, as the units and patios are spacious
enough to accommodate even the largest pet.  However, we do ask that pets be well behaved, and when on the grounds, be on a leash.
 

How close are you to downtown Palm Springs?

We are located just south of downtown Palm Springs, close enough to walk, or a minute or two drive.  We're just far enough away so that you hear birds in the morning, frogs in the afternoon and crickets at night!  But just a moment away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Palm Springs nightlife and famous village, with its great restaurants, theatre, boutique shops and nightclubs.
 

How close are you to the Convention Center?

We are located about 1 1/2 miles south of the Convention Center.
 

What is your cancellation policy?

There is no penalty for cancellations up to 7 days prior to your scheduled check-in.
After that, a charge of one room night will apply.

How is a reservation guaranteed?

Visa, Master Card or Discover is required to guarantee a reservation.
 

Are there any other charges in addition to the room rates?

We collect an 11.5% Transient Occupancy Tax for the City of Palm Springs, and a 2% Utility Tax.
 

What time is check-out and check-in?

Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.  Check-in time is 2:00 p.m.  Special arrangements
can be made for early check-in, or late check-out, subject to availability.  

A 5:00 p.m. check-out is available for a half-day rate (subject to availability)..
 

What happens if I fall in love with Palm Springs, as so many people do, and decide to buy my own "place in the sun"?
